YUICHIRO NISHIZAWA is a Japanese artist and furniture designer. He has been actively exhibiting in the U.S. for several years, and his early time-based work has been shown internationally. In his work, Nishizawa seeks to present an opportunity for self-reflection, to stimulate thought, and to encourage observation. His current investigation deals with the influence of technology on our experience of the world around us. A founding member of everyspace, a New York-based design collective, Nishizawa?s interest in design stems from a desire to integrate art in everyday life. With a focus on clean, simple lines, he seeks to bring a degree of minimalist elegance to urban living. He holds a BFA in Film/Animation/Video from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate and an MFA in Art and Technology from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Nishizawa lives and works in New York, where he is an avid practitioner of Jeet Kune Do.
